Your data, your choice

Delete your Nikkup account

You can delete your Nikkup account at any time, in the app or by email. This page explains how, and what happens to your data. The Nikkup app is provided by Sowaan (Private) Limited.

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open the Nikkup app and sign in.
  2. Tap the Profile tab.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. If the app offers to pause your profile instead, choose Delete account again, then confirm.

Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out on every device.

Want a copy of your data first? Go to Profile → Email & account → Download my data and tap Prepare my data. You get a download link to a copy of your profile, photos, matches and your own messages, valid for 24 hours.

Subscriptions: deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings, otherwise the store keeps renewing it. Website passes do not renew.

Ask us to delete your account (without the app)

If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, email support@nikkup.com:

  • send the email from the email address registered on your account, or include the phone number registered on your account;
  • write “Delete my account” in the subject or message.

We check that the account is yours (we may ask you to confirm a code sent to that phone number or email address) and then delete it within 30 days. We reply to confirm when it is done.

What happens after you delete

  • Straight away: your profile, photos and chats are hidden from everyone, you are signed out everywhere, your matches end, and the face template used for duplicate-account checks is removed.
  • Changed your mind? Sign in again with the same phone number (or the same Apple or Google account) within 30 days and your account and profile are restored. Matches that ended do not come back.
  • After 30 days: your personal data is permanently deleted, as listed below.

If a safety report about the account is still open, deletion waits until our moderators have closed it. An account that is suspended or under review cannot be deleted in the app; email us instead.

What is deleted

  • your phone number, email address, name, date of birth, city and location;
  • your profile, photos (including blurred copies), selfie and ID document images, and the details read from your ID;
  • the messages you sent and your message requests (except reported messages, see below);
  • your partner preferences, deal breakers and questionnaire answers, your wali’s details, saved profiles and photo permissions;
  • your sign-in and location history, devices and notification tokens, your “Avoid contacts” list and your guidance-session messages.

What we keep, and why

  • Reported messages: messages that a member reported, and the reports themselves, are kept so moderators can still review them and keep members safe.
  • Payment records: a record of each purchase (product, amount, currency, date and store or provider reference), no longer linked to your name or contact details, for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
  • Banned accounts: if the account was banned, we keep one-way keyed hashes of its phone number, email address and device identifiers, and its face template, so the same person cannot simply sign up again. These cannot be turned back into the original details.
  • Anonymous statistics: counts such as how many support tickets or guidance sessions there were, with nothing that identifies you.
  • Backups: our encrypted backups are deleted on a rolling schedule, so copies of deleted data disappear from them within 90 days.

More detail is in our Privacy Policy. Questions: contact us or email support@nikkup.com.
