Nikkup publishes guides on marriage, a digest of marriage questions answered by scholars, and pages comparing Nikkup with other apps. This page explains who writes them, where the information comes from, and how to ask us to correct something. Questions or corrections: support@nikkup.com.
1. Who writes our content
Guides are published by the Nikkup Editorial Team, part of Sowaan (Private) Limited, the company that runs Nikkup. The team uses AI writing tools to help draft and translate guides into English, Urdu and Arabic, and is responsible for everything we publish.
Nikkup is a marriage app, so our content has a commercial interest: guides often end by mentioning how Nikkup can help. We keep that separate from the advice itself and never present Nikkup features as religious requirements.
2. How guides are researched and reviewed
- Every statement about Nikkup is checked against how the app actually works. Our build automatically blocks claims we know to be wrong, for example calling members "verified" when every member passes a live selfie check and ID verification is optional.
- Each guide shows its byline and a Reviewed date: the last time it was checked and updated.
- Guides are general guidance, not religious rulings. They are not reviewed by a named scholar. Where a question needs a ruling for your situation, we say so and suggest asking a qualified scholar or Darul Iftaa.
- When the app changes, or we find a mistake, we update the guide and its Reviewed date.
3. Religious material and sources
Our marriage questions answered by scholars only summarise questions that a qualified scholar has already answered on an approved Darul Iftaa source. Today these are askimam.org (Darul Iftaa Mahmudiyyah), the Hanafi section of IslamQA.org (credited to the original Darul Iftaa, "via IslamQA.org"), fatwaqa.com (Dar-ul-Ifta Ahl-e-Sunnat, Dawat-e-Islami), onlinefatawa.com (Darul Ifta Jamia Binoria Aalamia, Karachi) and the Darul Uloom Karachi section of Darulifta.info (credited to Darul Ifta Darul Uloom Karachi, "via Darulifta.info"). We do not use sources whose publishers do not allow summaries.
- Summaries are short and in our own words. We never copy the answer, add a ruling of our own, or soften or strengthen the scholar’s conclusion.
- Every entry credits the scholar and the Darul Iftaa by name, shows the fatwa number when the source does, and links to the original answer so you can read it in full.
- Scholars and schools of thought sometimes differ. Where that matters, we note that other scholars may hold a different view and suggest asking your own scholar.
- Nikkup does not issue fatwas.
- If you are the scholar or Darul Iftaa behind an answer and want a summary corrected or removed, email support@nikkup.com and we will act on it promptly.
4. Comparison pages
Our comparison pages (Nikkup vs other apps) are written by Nikkup, so we are not a neutral party. To keep them fair, everything we say about another app comes from its own website, help centre or app store listing, with the source linked and the date we accessed it. If we could not confirm something, we leave it out or mark it "Not stated". Each page shows when it was last updated.
If you represent one of these apps and something is out of date or wrong, email support@nikkup.com with a link to your current information and we will correct it.
5. Corrections
Found a mistake, an outdated detail, or something that could mislead? Email support@nikkup.com with the page link and what is wrong. We review every request, correct confirmed errors as soon as we can, and update the page’s Reviewed or Updated date.
