Child Safety Standards
On this page
Nikkup is a marriage platform for adults aged 18 and over, operated by Sowaan (Private) Limited. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. These Child Safety Standards apply to the Nikkup apps on Google Play and the App Store, the website at nikkup.com, and any contact that starts on Nikkup.
1. What is prohibited
The following are strictly prohibited on Nikkup and will lead to immediate and permanent removal and, where required or appropriate, a report to the authorities:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): creating, sharing, requesting, linking to or possessing any sexual or sexualised image, video, drawing, AI-generated or written content involving a person under 18.
- Grooming: building contact or trust with a minor, or with someone you believe to be a minor, for a sexual purpose, or arranging to meet a minor.
- Sextortion and coercion: threatening, blackmailing or pressuring anyone, especially a minor, to produce or share sexual content.
- Sexualising minors: any content, comment or request that sexualises a child, including "child marriage" or arranged marriage involving a person under 18.
- Trafficking and exploitation: any form of child trafficking, sale, or commercial or sexual exploitation of a minor.
- Minors on the platform: anyone under 18 may not create or use an account, and adults may not use Nikkup to look for, contact or arrange marriage with a minor.
2. How we prevent it
- Adults only. Every member must confirm they are 18 or over and enter a date of birth; accounts that appear to belong to a minor are removed.
- Identity checks. Every member takes a live selfie check, and members can verify with an official ID that confirms their age. ID documents are never shown to other members and are deleted after review.
- Photo and text screening. Photos are screened before they are shown, and messages are checked by automated safety filters that block sexual content and flag risky behaviour for review.
- No private-photo requests. Requests for private or sexual photos are not allowed under our Community Guidelines.
- Report and block everywhere. Every profile and every conversation has Report and Block, and reports about minors or CSAE are treated as urgent.
- Trained moderators. Our Trust & Safety team reviews reports, can suspend accounts immediately, and preserves evidence where the law requires it.
3. What we do when we find it
- We remove the content and permanently ban the account, and block the person from creating new accounts.
- We report apparent child sexual abuse material and child exploitation to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline and the law enforcement agency of the country concerned, in line with applicable law.
- We preserve the relevant data for law enforcement as required, and we cooperate fully with lawful requests from the authorities.
- We never notify the reported person in a way that could put a child at further risk.
4. How to report a concern
In the app: use Report on the profile or in the conversation and choose the option about a minor or child safety. You can also block the person.
By email: write to our Child Safety contact at support@nikkup.com with the subject "Child safety". Please include the member name or profile and a short description; do not send us any illegal images.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first. You can also report child sexual abuse material directly to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org or to your national hotline (for example, through INHOPE member hotlines).
