Imams
When parents ask where their son or daughter can look for a spouse with dignity, you can point them to a place built around family involvement.
Community partners
Families already turn to you when a rishta is being discussed. Here is how Nikkup supports families and walis, what we ask of community partners, and a one-page handout you can print.
Who it is for
If people come to you for advice on finding a spouse, this page is for you.
When parents ask where their son or daughter can look for a spouse with dignity, you can point them to a place built around family involvement.
For notice boards, marriage events and community services: a handout to print and pin up, in English, Urdu or Arabic.
For clients who want to search with their family involved and their privacy protected, at their own pace.
A practical example for lessons on the role of the wali, consent and safe first conversations.
For families and walis
Nikkup is a Muslim marriage app for people who are serious about nikah. It is for marriage, not dating.
Every member passes a live selfie check before they appear to others. ID verification is optional, never shown to other members and deleted after review.
A member can invite their wali or a family member into a conversation with a secure link, so they can follow it and take part.
Photos can stay blurred until both people agree, and members can hide their profile from people they know.
Phone numbers and contact details stay out of early conversations. From the Serious stage, both members can agree to exchange contact details.
Any member can report or block someone at any time. Reports are reviewed by trained moderators.
Member data is never sold. Always free for women; men get a free core and can choose the optional Nikkup Plus.
Community partners
There is nothing to sign. If you share Nikkup, we only ask that you do it with care.
Recommend Nikkup to adults (18 and over) who are seeking marriage, and encourage them to involve their wali or family from the start.
A selfie check confirms that a person is real; it says nothing about their character. Families should still ask questions and take the usual care before any commitment.
If someone in your community has a problem on Nikkup, ask them to report it in the app, or write to us.
We don’t pay for referrals or recommendations, so your advice stays your own. We never share members’ personal details with partners.
We call the people and organisations who share Nikkup “community partners”. It is not a certification, and we won’t use your name or your masjid’s name without your written permission.
Printable handout
Print it or save it as a PDF: only the handout prints, on one A4 or Letter page. Switch the page language for an Urdu or Arabic copy.
