Nikkup vs SingleMuslim.com

SingleMuslim.com is one of the longest-running names in Muslim matrimony online. It started as a website, has run for well over a decade, and now has apps too. Its App Store listing describes a database of over 2 million Muslim singles worldwide. For many families, it's the first site that comes to mind, and that longevity counts for something.

Nikkup is a newer, app-first service for people serious about nikah. The two take quite different approaches: a classic search-and-message matrimony site on one side, and a privacy-focused mobile app on the other. Here's a fair look at both, based on SingleMuslim.com's own help pages and app store listings as of October 2026.

In short

The verdict

If you want a long-established matrimony website with detailed search, web access and a private photo gallery, SingleMuslim.com may suit you. If you want a modern app with live selfie checks, the option to keep photos blurred until you both agree, invisibility from your own contacts, built-in wali and family sharing, and every core and Plus feature free for women, Nikkup may suit you.

Two different approaches

SingleMuslim.com works like a traditional matrimony database. You register, build a detailed profile, run searches with advanced criteria, see who's been viewing your profile, and message members. You can do all of this on the website or in its apps, which are run by Muslims, for Muslims, according to its listing.

Nikkup is built as a phone app from the start. You discover profiles, show interest, and chat once there's a match. There are no swiping games and no ads. The focus is on giving you control over who sees you and when.

If you like browsing a big database on a laptop and searching in detail, SingleMuslim.com may suit you. If you want a lighter, privacy-first app on your phone, Nikkup may suit you.

Verification and moderation

SingleMuslim.com says every photo goes through its standard approval process before it appears, to keep out offensive, fake or contact-detail images, and its privacy and security page says it may ask members to verify their age. Check their help pages for how profiles themselves are reviewed.

On Nikkup, every member passes a live selfie check. ID verification is optional, and your ID is never shown to other members and is deleted after review. You can report and block anyone, and reports are handled by human moderators. More on how we keep members safe is on our safety page.

Privacy controls

SingleMuslim.com uses a gallery system: a main photo, public photos, and a private gallery. Other members send a request to see your private photos, and you can accept or decline. There's also a photo swap option that gives both people access for 48 hours. Its rules ask for the main photo to be a clear, close-cropped face photo.

Nikkup's controls work a little differently:

  • Photos can stay blurred until both of you agree to reveal them.
  • Invisible visibility: only people you've shown interest in can see you (free for women; a Plus feature or 30-day extra for men).
  • Hide your profile from people in your contacts, so relatives and colleagues don't come across you.
  • Contact details are hidden early in chats, until you both agree to share them.
  • Nikkup never sells your data.

Both let you decide who sees your photos. If you like a request-and-approve gallery, SingleMuslim.com may suit you. If you want mutual reveal and the option to be invisible to almost everyone, Nikkup may suit you.

Family and wali involvement

We couldn't find a dedicated wali or family feature on SingleMuslim.com's official pages, so the table says "Not stated". Many families do use the site together, of course, so check the site for its latest options.

Nikkup builds family in. You can invite a wali, and you can share text-only profile summaries with family, so parents can read about a potential match without photos being forwarded. See how it works on our families page.

Free and paid options

SingleMuslim.com offers free registration and browsing. Its help pages say women receive complimentary membership, with some premium features needing an upgrade, and that men pay for Gold Membership, which unlocks messaging, seeing who viewed your profile and unlimited searches. Gold plans are recurring subscriptions. Plan lengths and prices differ between its website and app store listings, so check their current plans before you upgrade.

On Nikkup, women get every core and Plus feature free; optional extras like a second sharing number are paid. Men get a free core (discover, match, reply, wali and safety tools), and can add Nikkup Plus from USD 4.99 / PKR 449 a month, with 6 and 12 month plans. Full details are on our pricing page.

Where SingleMuslim.com is strong

Longevity and reach. SingleMuslim.com has been around for many years, describes a large international membership, and works on the web as well as on iPhone and Android. If you prefer a desktop browser, or want a service with a long history, that matters. Nikkup is currently on Android via Google Play, and works in English, Urdu and Arabic.
